Weight?? - help please??!


Question: Hey im 13 and in 7th grade. i think that i have like a serious weight problem. im 5'3'' and weigh 145 pounds. and i have like a huge stomach. The main reason is because i had surgery when i was 1 4 and 10 so all the medications made me gain weight and never lose it. Anyways, like a girl at my dance studio who used to be like BFF, well she i swear has a 15 inch waist. all the time, so i know she's not like holding her breath lol, because she dances and has a 15 inch waist. she fits into like any shirt or pants that exist in the world. I seriously, have a 35 inch waist when i like completly relaxed. but i naturally like tighten my stomach muscles when im walking and stuff so i have like a 32 inch waist. All the girls on my dance team are like pure bones. and the only reason that im like this is because of the stupid medications.
i really wanna look nice when i start 8th grade. i know someone is gonna say to just love the way i am.

You are really young. And yes you should love who you are. However, the medications can really take a toll on your body. It sounds like you do a lot of cardio exercise with your dance, but maybe try some resistance training 2-3 days per week. You can use light weights or resistance bands. You can also just use your own body weight for lunges, squats and pushups (Have proper form though) This will build muscle, help with posture, and increase your metabolism. and, if you have tried dieting, make sure you are eating at least 1200 calories so your body isn't in starvation mode. Good luck with it but don't worry about it. Just live healthy!!!

you're so young! don't worry about it. you will become more lean over time.

Talk with your mom and tell her how you feel.
Ask her to take you to a doctor.
That is the best way.
Let her know how important it is for you to feel better about yourself.
There must be a good, safe, healthy way to trim down and your doctor will know what that is.
