I'm on my period and tomorrow my school is going on a 3 day trip please help!

Question: This is my first year getting it and out of no where it came. I'm on my period and the trip is coming. The thing is the drive is 3 hours away and there are bathrooms on the bus, but since the entire 7th grade is going we had to split up into like 6 or 7 buses. But guess what? My group is the only girl group that is going to be on the bus, so guys will be on the bus and they would hear be with my pad. That would be so embarrassing. Oh my goodness please help me I don't know what todo!!!!!!!

Also my assistant principal is going to be on the bus

He's A GUYYYY!!!!!!! =[

Aww you will be ok. Since you already have it now, it should taper off over the next couple days. Tampons are great but they took me a long time to learn how to use. I was almost 18 when I started to use them they are awkward. Its a thing almost every women has to go through your assistant principle should more than understand if something happens. Its nothing to be scared or ashamed of. They make all kinds of thin pads nowadays. You can get ones that you can change every 4-5 hours. The ones with wings work great for me. Also midol is wonderful is your having cramps. Just relax and enjoy your trip, the only the thing they can hear if everyone is being quiet is maybe the sticky thing on the pad, but I highly doubt it. Many of the other girls should have had there periods by now, and some may be having theirs the same time as you. Hope this helps Goodluck!!

You could wear your tampon the entire trip if it is only 3 hours, and most likely be okay. If you're worried about the tampon getting full during that 3 hours, I would wear a pad just as back up, and at least then you shouldn't have to worry about changing it. Also, if the tampon did become too full to continue wearing, you could change that without having to change the pad, providing that it was clean enough to continue wearing.

Don't fret hun, you'll be ok =)

You can wear a tampon from 4-6 hours than you would have to replace it. What do you mean the guys will hear your pad do you mean when you put it on or when you are walking by? I highly doubt it but if you are concerned go for the tampon it is a lot more comfortable than a pad and less noisy. Just get a name brand not a generic.

hun if you're the ONLY girl on that bus you need to get your mom to talk to the school and switch you onto another bus....for one thing thats not right being with so many guys. And sweetie the bus is going to be so loud that they would'nt hear a thing.....just peel it VERY slow to be safe.

You have to change a tampon every 4 - 8 hrs, but if your heavy you might leak so you might need to change it more often than that, like every hour or so... Try wearing tampons today and get used to them for tomorrow or you can wear pads and when you go to the bathrooms then turn on the tap like your washing your hands, or take your pad off slowly and it barely makes a noise.

Situation similar with pads and noise haha

I totally agree with Alicia, but I want to add EVEN if you have to change your pad, no one will hear you over the rumble of the bus's motor or all the sounds of the very excited 7th graders. Just Relax.

omg! thats gross,i could understand your big problem, see if you can get someone to get you on another bus.good luck and enjoy the trip.

im sorry i have to disagree with what someone else has written!! tampons can be kept in for up to 8-10 hours. dont fret hunni use heavy flow ones. and where an ultra thin pad underneath to stop any leaks. dont worry you'll be fine [i promise]

You know what? Most 7th grade guys are very immature. I would say, just do whatever is right for you. So what if they hear you with your pad? You gotta do, what you gotta do. Lol. Just remember, if you chose to wear a tampon, you should only wear it for up to 6 hours. Good luck. :) ?

just wear a tampon for the whole trip but wear a pad to just in case ur tampon over flows and ull be fine

you can wear a tampon that whole time, but make sure you buy the ones for heavy periods.

Tampons you could wear for the whole trip. But be careful if you have never used them before. Some girls experience pain and discomfort with them. Make sure you are using them properly and remove it don't forget about it.
And as for them being able to hear you on the bus, the bus is very loud and only because you are nervous do you think that they will hear. The pads really aren't that loud.

Hope this helps!!!

if you can maybe get your mom to talk to one of the FEMALE teachers and ask if you and your group can switch onto the bus with them

if your trip is only 3 hours you can wear a tampon for that long
but make sure its one for heavier absorbancy
and even wear a pad JUST in case

try not to worry
but if you have to goto the washroom right before you get on the bus and change your things
and then maybe a while into the bus ride so you dont worry about it getting so bad
and if anyone asks you why you keep going

just tell them you drank to much:P

try not to be embaressed tho
its the way of life
i was the same way but, eventually its like..its normal all girls get it

GOODLUCK!

Kotex makes pads that supposedly have super quiet wrappers. I've never tried them so I can't tell you if they're actually all that quiet but you could try them! Plus they will probably stop at some point at a truck stop or something, so you could always change it there.

You can leave a tampon in for 4-6 hours and you can get like a "super heavy flow" one but you have to be careful with those since they increase the risk of TSS. I say go and buy a small pack of the Kotex pads and see how quiet they are!

*edit: A bus full of grade seven boys isn't going to be that quiet either so even if the pad wrapper makes a little noise, I doubt anyone will be able to hear it!
