Can i take two packages of birth control pills in a row?!

Question: In the past, instead of taking the placebo pills, i have started right into my next pack of pills, delaying my period for an extra week. Is it possible to do this for 2 weeks instead of one?

After i've taken 3 weeks from one package and 2 from another all in a row, i'll menstruate. but that means i'll have to take the last week of pills from the second pack, then menstruate again? or will i just take that last week of pills, then start into another pack and finish that one.
so confusing!

Its not good to take them off schedule more than once or twice a yr. The newer pills that have hit the market recently are causing strokes in very young women. Your body needs to cleanse itself and also your screwing with ur hormones by doing that. Not a good idea. If you do want to skip a period for vaction ect. you would skip the placebos and go straight into the next pack. Then take them all 30 as perscribed. If you have breakthrough bleeding its because your body doesnt like the cycle you are putting it through

As long as you are on a MONOPHASIC pill....not one where the first and third weeks are slightly weaker than the second, but one where the strength is the same all the way through, you can definately skip your period. I've been skipping mine for about 4 months. I talked to my OBGYN and she said there are no proven bad effects of skipping your period, though eventually you should let yourself have it just to clean things out. Its so much more convenient to skip when you have a vacation or something fun going on. I skip for most of the summer.

Yup this is usually fine, a lot of women will completely omit the entire week of placebo pills intentionally to skip their period that month. This is safe and effective, you will not get your period and you will still be protected from getting pregnant. Honestly, I think the placebo week is just there to comfort us by giving us our period every month and saying "See, you're not pregnant!"

If I were you, I'd just keep taking the second pack until you come to it's week of placebos and then take those and get your period. Like I said, it's safe, and woman sometimes do it in order to skip their period if they are going to get it while on vacation or another special event when they'd rather just avoid it.

Good luck and enjoy your flow-free week.

You really need to get approval from your DOCTOR before going against what your prescription drugs directions state.

If you want to keep on skipping your period you really should discuss going on Lybrel, Seasonale, or Seasonique with your doctor.
