How much time should I take off work for a boob job?!

Question: I intend on having a breast augmentation in a few months. I've had doctors say that I need to take anywhere from a week to a month off work. I'm a nanny, so there's obviously no way I can take a month off work. I havent had any kids yet, but I intend on doing so in about 5 years. Anyhow, what I'm wondering is about personal experiances women have had with this. How much time did you need to take off work? The kids are 4.5 and 6.5, so I dont need to carry anything heavy on a regular basis but I am very active with them. I just want to know how long I should take off work, what to expect, and even what differences you've experianced with under the muscle vs. over, and saline vs. silicone. But my main concern is time off.... Thanks!

It depends on your incision site and the type of work you do. I had a 425cc, under the muscle, saline through a transaxillary incision. At the time, my job was very active. I felt ok within about 2.5 weeks but I would tire easily and I could not lift anything heavy. It also depends on pain tolerance. I would say if you could take a month off that would probably be your best bet. Try to take off as long as you can. Good luck.

with any surgery if the doctor says take a month off.
there is diffenetly a reason for it..so if you are cutting
it short then thats your choice but they have the recovery time for an extended period for a reason.

Hell, I wouldn't give you any time off. What the hell do you need with saline boobs?

Don't do it! Save your money. Save your body from possible harm. You're young and probably more attractive than you realize. I've known women who've gotten augmentations and they didn't turn out as well as they'd hoped. Most men don't like fake breasts anyway.

Do you want to be healthy? Do you want ZERO complications and problems?

Before scheduling your BREAST job, you really should have done the research. Check out that site I posted in my answer, they have a good FAQ section as well as a support board, and will really help you out with your situation.

IMO it depends on how active your job is. With being a nanny you really should take off at LEAST a month! If you don't want any complications to arise you really should do this, or postpone the surgery to when you can take at least a month off.

What size are you now? What size are you going to?
