Bartholin's gland cyst!?!

Question: I just realized that I have a Bartholin's gland cyst (or what appears to be one).

My problem is that I am an FTM (female to male transsexual) and I have an extreme problem with anyone seeing me without my pants -- that includes doctors. Seeing a doctor is not an option for me right now.

Can anyone tell me from experience how long it'll take to disappear? CAN I just ignore it? It's the size of a bead, hard, and painful.

Serious answers would be appreciated.
Thanks.

If it's not infected, it may go away on its own. However, I've only had infected BGCs, so in my experience, going to the doctor was the only way to fix the problem. Mine had to be drained in the doctor's office.

Is it red? Very warm to the touch? You mentioned that it was painful, which to me, is a sign of an infection forming.

You can try putting warm compresses on it several times a day, and you can take some ibuprofen or Tylenol for the pain. I found that any ointment or cream I put on mine just made it worse, so I didn't use anything except for plain water.

The worst thing you can do is try to squeeze it or play with it. Not only will it irritate it, but your fingers and nails have TONS of bacteria on and around them. Believe me - it will not end well if you mess with it yourself. Just use warm compresses.

You can google "Bartholin's gland cyst" to find more info.

Just let it be. Don't try to pop it or anything that is painful and it can get infected. It will eventually go away.
