she might be pregnant, for this you can also go for some other symptoms and if you find some more in her then she should get a pregnancy test :

Tell her to go get a checkup. It could be anything from pregnancy to diabetes..

well, I am assuming she has ruled out pregnancy after two months, because of course that would be the obvious first thing to suspect... maybe the period has nothing to do with the other symptoms, gallstones?, anxiety? anemia? ulcer?

This could be caused by a number of things, however I would recommend that she consults with her doctor just to rule out any serious causes.
