How is PCOS linked with diabetes and what are the chances of getting diabetes wh!

Question: its because of the high amount of insulin women with pcos usually have the increased chance of obesity. im not sure about the chances of getting it, but as long as you follow a good diet and exercise regularly then im sure you have nothing to worry about. i have polycystic ovarys although not as bad as women with actual pcos get it. in fact i lose weight and never put any on, and get a few of the symptoms. it effects everyone differently. if there is any reason to worry then speak to your dr but im sure you will be fine. good luck.

i think its because with because it usually causes the sufferer to gain weight easily, and diabetes is linked with obesity, but that is just a guess dont know for sure, interesting question!

The link comes from the fact that, women with PCOS are overweight / obese with the weight comes hormonal irregularities and insulin resistance the bodies inability to process sugars correctly. The weight increases your hormone / insulin levels causing most not all women with the condition to be pre diabetic, it can be turned around the best prevention is weight loss, a healthy diet, exercising, maintain healthy weight. The more weight the higher the risk of developing full blown diabetes having PCOS puts you at a higher risk of developing many health problems. Their is no guarantee that all people will go on to become full diabetics or not depends on the person, but the risk of it are written in stone.

if you have PCOS chances of you being diabetic are the same as somebody with flu being diabetic!!!!Too many people read things on the Internet that they cannot understand and make mountains out of molehills
