Why does menstruation make a lot of women feel and look ill?!

Question: I mean women from 13 to 50, can look drastic at their time of month. Why is this? Should this female happening be classed as an illness to some/most?

It can be very painful and the loss of the blood is quite uncomfortable and literally- draining!! We do need sympathy at this time as even painkillers and a healthy lifestyle and exercise do not always combat the stress or discomfort.

not me. not if ur active during d time.

Maybe because we're going through pain or other menstrual symptom.

cause women go through PAIN during it....and if anyone is like me, i dont like to be in pain, yet i hate taking pills so i dont have a bad liver 10 years down the road....

i think its the fact because like, your losing blood thats seppost to come out but its like...your body has to get used to it
and i know when im on it im to lazy to do almost anything since i feel so sick

honestly that would be kind of good if it was classified as that
or soemthing
because alot of people think its just an excuse but really sometimes it makes people feel really sick and out of it

because of the volume of blood loss - can actually make a woman seriously anaemic for a few days. And the fact that they generally feel totally cr*p at that time anyway!

hormonal imbalances

When i'm on my period I could nearly shot myself because of the pain I go through. Sucks doesn't it gals!!?

it takes alot out of a woman when she gets her period. The body is hard at work and that makes a girl really tired which may result in her looking that way.

hormonal problems

Because the hormones make you aggravated, and the loss of blood makes you sort of temporarily anaemic which makes you pale and tired. If I eat a nice steak I feel loads better. It works every time!
