all you need to know right there. i couldn't say it all but that sums it up! i hope i helped!

you have to find your vaginal hole and stick it in...if your a virgin this may be hard...try getting playtex gentle gluide tampons or really thin tampons that are easy to slip in.

honey, if you have to ask, you're too young to be using them. if you dont use them correctly, you could be at risk for TSS, which could be potentially fatal. you need to talk to your mother or a woman that is close to you for advise.

There are instructions that come in the box. Relax and use a hand mirror so you can see what you're doing. Angle it towards your tailbone. Use one with an applicator if you can.

I agree with sally! Go to the website she listed and be careful it is not just as simple as finding the hole and shoving it in. If you put it in wrong you could cause problems and you need to be aware of TSS.

Call the 800 # on your tampon box for assistant!

there's directions in the pamphlet that comes in the box, but basically

after you insert it LIGHTLY into your vagina,

1. hold the bottom of the thicker end of the tampon (they're all different, but the lesser section of the tampon has the string in it...NOT that part)

2. push the lesser section of the tampon into the other one all the way.

3. take the outer cover (the part you're holding) and put it in the garbage.

4. for your first time, make sure the string is out. (it should be kind of hanging down)
if you have discomfort, it might be crooked, or it may not be in all the way, so pull it out by the string and try again. It may take a few practices before you get it right.

5. Make sure to change it! Some people have died from not changing it, or leaving it in too long. I forget what it's called, but if you get feverish, or feel sick, take it out and call your doctor immediately because it could be the sign of a rare but serious illness.

Good Luck! (and don't be embarrassed! we all had our first at one time or another...and some of the stories are hillarious!)

dont make the mistake another asker did... it's the anterior entrance.. not the posterior one.
