Braxton Hicks pain?!

Question: So I posted this question earlier http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... and I called my doctors office.
I spoke with a mid-wife who said that it sounds like braxton hicks pain. But it is continuous pain, and it hurts like crazy when it comes.
I was reading up on Braxton hicks and it said they aren't supposed to hurt.
I don't feel comfortable at all with this pain, reading that it's not supposed hurt like this. I want to cry when it comes.
It hurts and it's not normal.
Should I go to the ER?
The mid wife doesn't sound concerned, but I am.

1st off you need to calm down, drink some water and then lay down on your left side. That is supposed to help with the pain and braxton hicks contractions.
With both of my pregnancies my braxton hicks contractions hurt. It all depends on your body. If you are stressing out about it, it can make them hurt a lot more. So you need to stay calm and lay down. That will help a lot. After laying down for a couple hours if the pains are still there then just call your doctor back and let her know and then she may want to see you. But they are more the likely braxton hicks contractions.
Good luck and stay calm
