Definitely not too early.
Unless your levels of HCG are too low to detect, you're not pregnant, and your period is late for some other reason. Time to consult a doctor.
No it's not too early to detect. Usually 1 week after a missed period is when you're supposed to check.
Go to your doc and get a blood test to check HCG levels.
I would doubt your pregnant if you don't get a positive after a month. Most are accurate once you are 2 weeks late. But everyone is different. If you miss another period go make an appointment with your doctor.
