Strange question during gyn exam?!

Question: a woman gyn was giving me an exam (you know the kind ladies) and during such exam she asked me "so, do you have a boyfriend?" "are you dating anyone".

I thought that was (blanking) weird to be asking while my legs are spread wide apart and her hands are up my crotch.

Would you have felt that question was a bit weird at a time like that?

maybe she wanted to know which team you played for, so to speak. maybe she was hitting on you. I mean, she's a woman who looks at vaginas all day. Do you realize how much schooling she had to go through to do that? I mean, she didn't just all of a sudden say "hey, I think I'll look at some coochies today." It's completely pre-meditated. I'm just saying, there's something a little off about anyone who wants to look at crotches all day long...so yeah in answer to your question, anything even remotely related to your love life is an inappropriate question during a pelvic unless she happens to notice an STD or something.
i'm sorry, a pelvic exam is a pretty standard exam. They basically swab you and culture your bacteria. unless they notice something abnormal, there's really no reason to delve into your personal sex life during the exam. if there was something she wanted to know from you, it would have been probably asked by your nurse or on the initial paperwork they give you to fill out.

no its not weird. they ask if you're sexually active and they HAVE to ask that. its nothing personal at all. My gyn is a man and he asks me if im sexually active and if i use condoms and all that good stuff. nothing invasive, its their job.

Very normal for a a GYN to ask such a thing . She is simply asking for your personal history for health purposes. Good doctor!

All gynocologists ask this because they need to know about your sexual history. As for the time that she asked you, many gynocologists try to converse with you while they are doing the exam to get your mind off of what is going on at that time... kind of to get you relaxed and comfortable. It's not weird at all.

not weird they are just asking so they know how active you are and what kind of tests that they need to do.
