Hi again sweetie...I just answered your first question so hopefully that will help with some of your questions. As to the worry of telling your mother I would just keep it simple. You have absolutely NOTHING to be embarrassed or ashamed about. Having a yeast infection does not indicate that you have been doing anything you shouldn't have been. I am the mother of an 11 year old daughter and she has had two yeast infections before. Sometimes they do follow a course of antibiotics (amoxicillin is notorious for causing yeast infections) but there are a number of other things that can cause one too. Are you a swimmer by any chance? Basically a yeast infection is caused by a fungus, and fungus can thrive anywhere that is moist and warm which is why the vagina is a prime target for a yeast infection. Just explain to your mom that you've been having itching and stuff and see what she says. Good luck!

yeast infections aren't STDs, just tell your mother. it doesn't mean you had sex or anything, it just means you wore really tight pants once.

Just say to her, Mom I think I have a problem. Maybe it is a yeast infection or something? Your mom will understand, believe me. I am a Mom and I have been on both sides of your dilemma

Yeast infections are often not related to sex. Your mother probably has had at least one, and she should understand the problem. Just tell her your symptoms, and maybe ask her if you can see a doctor.

You don't have to tell her if you don't want to. The stuff for treating them (like monostat or however it is spelled) is over the counter at any drugstore/grocery store. But there really is no reason not to tell her. Just go up to her, pull her aside, and tell her you think you have a yeast infection and could she get you some monostat.

Lots of women get yeast infections, you don't need to be sexually active, they just happen sometimes. Happened to my friend a few months ago and she was freaking out because she's a virgin and she was like "omg how can this happen", but no, anything can cause it. Even little children can get yeast infections. Just tell your mom your symptoms and ask her if it could maybe be a yeast infection and ask if she can take you to the doctor, chances are she might have had a yeast infection before.

you don't have to have sex or be on meds to get a yeast infection, sometimes they are triggered by changing hormones or a change in diet among other causes. Also, are you sure its a yeast infection? A lot of stuff down there when you go through puberty. Go see a doc or get one of those yeast infection tests from the drugstore. There is no reason to be worried about telling your mom, most likely she'll be understanding (maybe she's had one before) and concerned for your health.

Have you been sick and taken antibiotics in the past few months. You can get a yeast infection that way. Let your mom know. She is a woman. She has probably had one too. I have never had one and I have had sex, so it isn't sex related. Just tell her you need to go to the doc. DON"T just use an over the counter med if this is your first time having the yeast infection, it may need prescription strength meds to fix it. YOU NEED to see a doctor. Don't be afraid hon, some women are prone to yeast infections, due to the acidity of the vaginal fluids. Like I said, your mom probably had one before. If not, the doc can explain why you get them and it isn't sex related all the time.

just tell her its just ainfection because if moistness not stds or you had sex or anything like that

A yeast infection is caused by moisture and heat down there and your mom will know and understand this. Babys get yeast infections all the time. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Just talk to your mom and let her know that you did some research online and you think you may have a yeast infection. Then let her know your symtoms and I'm sure she'll make you an appointment and not even assume your sexually active b/c she is also a woman and she knows about these things.

Yeast infections are sometimes cause from taking antibiotics.

Eating yogurt everyday helps to get rid of it.

It is not just caused from sex at all. Some very young 5 or 6 year olds get yeast infections.

You just need tell her that you have something very personal to talk to her about, then tell her.

Oh, bubble baths cause infections in toddler girls and big girls too!
