It's "contagious" in the sense that females subconsciously smell other females' pheromones. When this happens, it is not unusual for the women to have their periods around the same time.

A good example of this is women who live together (eg. a dorm, a household, etc.). Once one person has their period, then the other women start having them shortly thereafter! Weird, huh?!

maybe your cycle is becoming regular.
is it already regular?
if it is, then i still dont think its contagious.
because i've heard that your cycle is supposed to change every 5 or 6 months.

Women living together secrete pheromones, chemical scent messengers, which tend to synchronise their cycles. Presumably there is a reason for this which may be close to the herd animal model, where animals all come into season at the same time, 'the mating season.' Since we tend to live in couple partnerships and human females are biologically in season every month, normally the system is obsolete and has no function. it is normal so dont worry its not contagious

The theory of simultaneous menstruation is that it occurs in CLOSE proximity over a length of time. So if you and your friend shared a dorm room together or even just lived together, but it wouldn't happen probably for several months....IF EVER. Some women use hormonal methods, so no amount of proximity is going to change their cycles.

What you have going on is sheer coincidence...and a bit of menstrual irregularity.

Many times women who live in the same household will find that their cycles do coincide after a period of time. It is something that is fairly common I believe.
