Well, ur period should arrive between ages 12-16.
Little blood stains indicate the start of ur period.
I suggset u get slim pads that can be slipped into ur purse or something u carry with u all the time just in case.
For a first timer, I don't think tampons are that appropriate yet, so stick to pads.

You would usually see a few small stains on your undies before it actually comes, so you'll be prepared for it and can put on a pad. You may also get pre-menstrual cramps.
