Girl Question...?!
Question: Ok so for about a month now or so I've been having this gross mucus-like stuff coming out of my...vagina I'm guessing? And it gets on my underwear and smells really bad. I haven't started my period though...it runs in my family to start later lol (I'm like the only one of all my friends who hasn't started)
Has any of you girls had this, and what do you do to prevent it from smelling so bad?

I am a Registered Nurse and it is safe to say do not worry it's called discharge. You will have your period soon and it's a normal part of a women to discharge, the odor is also normal.
Wear a pantiliner. That will protect your panties at least. Some of them are lightly scented so the odor wont offend you.
Consider seeing a gynocologist. Offensive odor in your disacharge can be a sign of infection. Discharge should be clear or white, with no odor. If it turns yellow or green or smells bad, see a dr! Douching wont help, it might actually even make it worse.
One more thing : when you wash the hooha use Ivory soap, or something similarly unscented and mild.
you get it about a year before you get your period

if it's white and gooey, it's called discharge.
it is totally normal to get it, it's supposed to come anywhere between a year or 6 months before you get your period.
there's nothing really to prevent the smell I don't think,
but you can wear panty liners to make it less uncomfortable when you're walking around (they basically absorb it.)

when you start getting discharge, it signals that your period is near. so be prepared!
the only thing i can think of to prevent it from smelling bad is to wear pantiliners and switch them everytime you go to the bathroom. it helps!

Well you acutally may be getting ready to start your period soon. But I think it's a big possiblility you have a bacterial infection. You can go to your regular dr and they can have ya pee in a cup to check for it. By the way don't be worried antibiotics clear this right up. But it's always been normal for me to have a little discharge right b4 my period but since yours has been so long I would get it checked.
discharge shouldn't smell at all...maybe you should get it checked out

If it smells you may need medicine, an antibiotic from your doc. But, a washcloth and soap and water help...just wash off all the soap or you'll be itchy.
Don't worry - it's just a natural part of growing up. It's part of the menstral cycle. You'll probably start your period pretty soon. We've all been there *hugs*
