Question: Ok so i went over to my friends house and had some drinks with him. Everything was goin good and all that. We were watchin movies and just talkin. Well on thing lead to another and we slept together last night and we did not use anything. I have a doctors appointment in the morning to go and get the morning after pill. but I guess my question is how does it work? I was on the depo shot for years and this is the first time i have done anything like this. Can someone help me or should I wait untill i start my period?

It works by stopping an embryo from implanting. It is high dose synthetic progesterone.
you should not wait until you get your period as if your period doesnt come, then you will allready be 2 weeks pregnant, and it will be too late to take the morning after pill. It has to be taken within 72 hours of intercourse. After this, an embryo will have had time to implant and the drug will no longer be effective.
