HELP, too much PMS/water retention 3 out of 4 weeks of the month?!

Question: lately I have been getting more water retention then normal and before the day my period started it would disappear but now it lasts for the entire time of my period too so now I am bloated for like 3 out of 4 weeks of the month, its really affecting my self esteem I am fed up I feel fat all the time but I know I am not, I do gain weight during this time too but I can tell its water. I did just have a baby 10 months ago so I know my body is still adjusting but could it be from the pill I am on. I also feel like I am still ovulating while on the pill just as a side note. Should i swtich pills would that help. I dont' add salt to my meals and I do drink lots of water, so that advice I already know.

It's a plus that you don't add salt to your meals, but that doesn't necessarily mean your sodium intake is low, especially if you eat prepared foods. They are almost always extremely high in sodium, as are canned soup and most other convenience foods. Try to find out the sodium content of the foods you're eating and total it up for the day. I'll bet it's higher than you'd think.

Try doing some cardio exercise to shed some of the water weight. You can start out with a slow jog on an elliptical, or stationary bike, or just walking briskly for a few miles.
