It could be a new infection starting, but another possibility is that you could be having a reaction to the over counter medication because of an ingredient called phenylol glycol (it's a type of alcohol) which can cause some women to burn (an example only).

It's also possible that you could be having a reaction to an ingredient in the medicine the doctor gave you (yet another example).

I've met women that ended up with a condition called vulvodynia (pain of the external genital area called the vulva, the vagina is inside the body) because of problems with yeast medicated creams.

I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor as well to see what she says.

theres wipes called Vagasil wipes to get rid of the pain fast and you can carry them around with you. Here is a link:

I hope they work!! byeeeeee....

anti-yeast meds are very good, i'd be suprised if they hadn't worked, especially since you seem to have taken more than one dose. If you haven't allready, make sure you try the external cream rather than fluconozole tablets. keep applying this for about a week. If it still hasnt gone away, you need to consider that the cause of the itching might be something else e.g. irritation from washing powder etc.

Get some plain yogurt and wipe that on the skin and vagina and let some enter your uretha. The yeast in the yogurt will cure your bacterial infection with no side effects. Do this as many times as you need it. Eating yogurt will help with future yeast infections too.

try vagasil

Take a small rag and wet it in really cold water, then squeeze it out and put it "down-there". It helps a lot for me and I have a similar problem. Or you could just go back and tell your doctor nothing's working and see what he says. Sorry I couldn't help more :(
