What are the common side effects of Birth control pills?!

Question: I have a doctors appointment in a week to go and get a prescription for the pill. I was just wondering some of the side effects i might have? any that anyone had.. or just general ones you know of. I heard your boobs gets bigger, but i also heard they might get smaller? And i heard that it might make you really horny haha. I just want to be clear on what to maybe expect. I am 17 if that makes any difference. Thank you =)

Some common minor side effects of birth control pills can include some mild nausea when first starting birth control pills, spotting or breakthrough bleeding, breast tenderness, mood changes, decreased sex drive, weight gain, cervical changes and vaginal discharge.

Some rare but serious side effects can include blood clots, abdominal pain, chest pain (also shortness of breath), headaches (especially those that are new, severe, or associated with persistent dizziness, difficulty speaking, fainting, numbness or weakness in extremities), eye problems (blurred vision or loss of vision), severe leg pain (and/or redness and swelling in the calf or thigh), high blood pressure, liver tumors, breast cancer risk or cervical cancer risk.

I would recommend that once you start taking the pill and if your symptoms persists and continues for longer than 3-6 months, that you consult with your doctor as your doctor may need to adjust/switch you to another brand of the pill.

Good luck :)

look up on the internet. go to yahoo.com and type in birth control side effects. See what you come up with.

Don't go on the pill, it's bad for your health.

One effect I got is migrane headaches.

Plus if you miss one pill, you start getting your period the next day...

IT's not good.

im 17 too and ive been taking them for about a yr now its sucha gud thing to take to be safe nad i know when im about to get my period it also reduces my cramps....you might get sum other symptoms just when you start taking them the most common ones are dizzyness, headaches, and naussea...it takes a lil while f because your body needs to get use to them.....if a month passes and you still have symptoms of the birthcontrol your taking you should go to your doctor and have dem give you another kind of bc gud lucK ;
