Well, i dont know how much condoms have evolved over the last 20yrs BUT i am the product of a condom that was properly used according to my mother and father. Other wise i dont know whatelse to tell ya. I guess if the man ejaculates in the condom it could have a small not even seen hole or the sperm could have been pushed out the top. Most latex condoms these days are right around 90-98% effective against pregnancy when used correctly. That being said, you must make sure that the guy leaves a small pocket at the end of the condom when it's on to give his ejaculate a place to go, or else you risk the condom breaking, which is still a fairly low risk.
The latex condoms have the highest effective rate, the lambskin condoms have the lowest since they are more natural and actually have open pores in them.
I don't know anyone who has gotten pregnant or gotten a girl pregnant when using a condom correctly, although I guess there is always a small risk in doing so.
