Terrible cramps; any solutions?!

Question: I get cramps every month with my period and mostly they're constant and painful! I always take Tylenol or Advil but it takes a while for the medicine to kick in and I'm left wanting to punch the wall. Any ideas on what else I can do to kill the pain?

try midol. works much better.
also, exercising will help it feel better. drink plenty of water too!

Try Black Cohosh. You can find it at GNC or natural foods stores.

as soon as you get your period take midol right away even if you dont have cramps and excercise when you do have them that always helps

well were are the cramps

Drink green tea, even when you're not on your period, then make sure, always, that you're never cold, that will get to you. Always wear socks and turn the heat up a little.

try either a really hot hot water bottle or i tend to find really cold ones work too

I have found that 2 things help. One is using a heat pad on either your pelvis or your lower back and 2 having sex. Having an orgasm helps to relieve cramps and the heat helps to relieve tense cramps also. Good luck!

heating pad...call your doctor...he'll hook you up...there is prescription medication for severe cramps such as yours

Try taking Aleve or Advil a few days before you expect your period. It is kind of a preemptive strike. You can also try to avoid caffeine before and during.

I would go to the doctor and get a stronger prescription. I take 800 Ibuprofen for my cramps, but most of the time that doesn't even work. I sometimes just lay down and put a heating pad over my lower stomach that helps take some of the pain away. While you are on your period stay away from caffeine and chocolate, both of those things increase the pain of your cramps!

try some pain medication

Get a hot water bottle, and put it right where your cramps are it really eases the pain a lot. Also drink a lot of water.

I used to have the worst cramps, and i recently found out i'm allergic to wheat. i changed my diet completely, no wheat, and no red meat and no dairy, and my cramps have sense been non existent. It really helped me out, so if you want to try and get rid of them naturally, that's what i would recommend.

Cut a square of white cotton, place a tablespoon of black pepper in the center, tie the square into a "tea bag" & place in boiling water. After 2 minutes take out of water and drink the "pepper tea" as hot as you can as fast as you can (it tastes really bad).Within minutes the cramps will go away!

Naproxin or Aleve works the best for this sympton. All meds take 30-45 to get into your blood stream.
