hi breast feed not suppress lactation, but lactation always sprees ovulation , after delivery if not breast feed than normal time of amnorrhia is 4-6 weeks , if u beast feeding Ur baby than it normally 3-4 months but this is not definite , it's call rd physiological amnorrhia, but wud say their high chance of pregnancy bcoz some time with out mensuration ovulation may occur as u said that u feel pain abdomen but no period so it cud be ovulation i suggest u use some contraceptive normal ocp r contraindication in lactation use condom or mini pills take advise of doctor OK best of luck

Breast feeding CAN and often DOES suppress menstruation.

Do NOT however rely on this as a method of contraception. A friend of mine is currently nursing her 5 month old, and just found out she's pregnant again. She ASSUMED that no periods equaled no pregnancy. Boy, was she WRONG!

If you have ANY health questions, PLEASE see your doctor.

Normally periods are supressed when breastfeeding, coz of hormonal changes-prolactin and oxitocin are hormones which are secreted during breastfeedind and they supress other hormones (follicule stimulating, lutenising hormones) which are responsible for changes eventually leading to menstruation. So menses while breastfeeding cannot happen! Ur abdominal pain is due to some other cause.
