I had sex on the 9th day of starting bc pills..is there a chance i can be pregna!

Question: i was off of bc pills for about a year and i started them again.
my boyfriend ejaculated in me on the 9th day of the start of my pills.
do you think we are ok?
i dont normally have unprotected sex but it was extremely late at night and we didnt want to go out and buy a condom.. and i figured my bc pills should have taken effect by then.
ive read about it and it says they take effect within the first week of taking them.

right after we had sex i went to the bathroom to let it drip out of me.. im not sure if that really helps or if its a old wives tale.

is there a chance i can be pregnant?

ANY time you have sex -- with or without contraception -- you have a chance of becoming pregnant. This is just a fact of life!

That being said, if you took your pills for the first week EXACTLY as you were supposed to (started them on time, and took them at the same time every single day), I'd say your overall chances are the same as a long-term user, or about 5%.

You're protected 7 days after starting your pills.

You should be okay but take a test to make sure.

There is always a chance that you can be pregnant. Just becuase you are on birth control it doesn't give you 110% protection against pregnancy. Condoms dont always work, and neither does birth control.
You may want to wait about a week or so and take a pregnancy test. You should still have a period even if you are pregnant because of the pills, so being late isnt going to be a sign.
