Not having a period or having one has nothing to do with kidney function. Protein in the urine can mean an infection is going on or that you had one in the past severe enough to cause some damage to allow serum to pass through the holes in the nephrons into the urine. Proteinuria can also be a side effect of diabetes, Systemic Lupus, and various other illnesses. The protein spill could also be an artifact of a time before you were born. Having more history or further testing could help nail down a reason.

Period abnormalities can be from many causes...even mental illness, depression, anxiety , infections, excessive exercise, excessively thin, excessively obese affects normal menses. Sometimes periods can skip cycles with no apparent reason. Of course pregnancy is a good reason and that has to be checked out too but 3 months after the last time for sex, I would be looking for other answers.

I don't know if there is a link to missed periods and protein in the urine. But, if in fact you do have microalbumin (protein) in your urine, you should be taking blood pressure medication to protect your kidneys. Talk to your doctor about taking one of the "sartans". if you are having abnormal periods, it could be due to PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome. You should exercise regularly and eat right. But if your blood work is good this is a good sign. Ususally your doctor will check the creatinine levels in your blood.

No period I don't know about. Kidneys I know allllll about.

Protein can show kidney problems. If you've had blood work then they've seen that your creatinine is normal, so you're not about to die or anything. There are so many things that can cause protein in the urine--Google "Proteinuria"--the fancy name for protein in the pee--you'll find a huge number of diseases. It can be hard to trace the source of this--I've been bouncing from dr to dr for 18 mos trying to figure out why I've got this. You'll need to go the doctor for more tests.

I'm not sure why these would be connected. Pester your dr until they find out. Drs give up unless you push. If this dr won't help, find one that will--he is your employee and you can fire him!
