Ok with your edits I understand. I have one on my leg, I'm 42. It never just goes away. you must have it removed, if it is unsightly. Mine has never bothered me and fades with my tan.

Forever - it is removed!
depends what type of birthmark of course... some are just considered beautiful marks.. others may be distracting.
sooo consult ur dermatologist, thru ur regular doctor..

What kind of birthmark do you have... vascular? If so it may be wize to just let it stay there.. and it also depends on where it is... if its in a sensative area then it may not go forever but if its not sensative area it may be gone 4eva!
