Period late by over two weeks?!

Question: I'm 16 years old and I've never had sex. I started my period like two years ago, and it comes pretty regulary...but now, its over two weeks late, and i dont know whats wrong.
I haven't changed any habits...i exercise 5 times a week, and i've been eating the same.

Hi hun..
I wouldn't worry too much right now but if it doesn't come within another two weeks then i'd go and see your GP and find out what's going on. If you're not having sex then im guessing it could be a hormone imbalance. (but im no doctor either) Are you stressed lately? Sometimes that has been known to delay menstrual cycles. It could simply be a puberty/hormone thing.
Goodluck.

sometimes u skip a month.

its just because of that if your a complete virgin you tend to skip periods or be very late

sometimes, especially when you are young your cycle will be a little irregular... also heavy excercise can effect your period and delay it....so can stress..don't worry .

Being so young, I wouldn't worry. Even if it's normally regular - for a teenage girl's period to come late (or early) isn't that odd. You could be stressed (or getting sick) without even knowing it. When I was 16, I didn't even know when to expect mine.

DON'T worry. I'm an athlete too, and i never know when mine is coming because i'm always working out. Some girls who are hard core athletes like gymness never even get their periods because their so fit. So it's perfectly fine.

My daughter is 14 and a virgin...she is experiencing sporadic periods also. Additionally, she is very heavy sometimes, and her stomach and abdomen cramps are so bad that she usually misses at least one day of school over it each month. We've been told it's normal for teens. Hopefully it will straighten out...hate to see her hurting so.
