Try leg raises (lying on your back and raising your legs a few inches off the ground and holding it) it burns but it works! If you want it to be less intense, just do one leg at a time. Also crunches are awesome, especially "oblique" or turning crunches. Have your arms crossed over your chest, go up and turn to one side and then the other and then back down. Try doing 10 crunches in a row and then resting and then maybe another set or just a couple other throughout the day. And always add more when you get stronger! :) Hope this helps and good luck.

crunches.

If it hurts then i think it might be working because its working your stomach muscles and do as many as you can and count them until you get tired and then you will slowly be able to do more and more.

Fitness is a lifestyle change... know that before you jump into it. When you want to get rid of that 'pudge' you're going to want to work your abs in a wide array of workouts. To pinpoint the lower section of your abs you'd probably want to do either inclined crunches, or "6-inches." Anything that makes your lower abs have that 'good burn' the day after, would be good.

However, because you have a hyperthyroid, you may want to find out all you can from your doctor about your health limitations... push them always toward the fittest and keep your entire lifestyle on the up and up.
