Relax! Try not to worry about inserting the tampon right the first time. If you are tense it will make insertion harder.

The best time to practice inserting a tampon is during the heavy part of your period. The tampon should glide inside your vagina easily without any discomfort.

Decide if you prefer to insert the tampon standing or sitting. If sitting is your preference, sit on the toilet. If you want to try standing, putting one foot on the bathtub helps.

Hold the tampon applicator in your right hand if you are right-handed, or left if left-handed.

Use your thumb and middle finger to hold the bottom of the larger, outer tube.

Point the tip of the applicator toward your vagina, facing slightly towards the back. The smaller tube should be pointed away from your body.

Use your other hand to open your vagina.

Place the tip of the applicator at the opening of your vagina.

Gently push the smaller end of the applicator in until it is completely inside the larger outer tube. This pushes the tampon into your vagina and out of the tube.

With your thumb and middle finger still on the outer tube, release the smaller tube and let the strings dangle freely.
Gently pull the two tubes out together.

Dispose of the applicator according to the manufactuer's instructions.

When you are ready to remove the tampon, gently pull the withdrawl strings down and forward. The used tampon may be flushed down the toilet.

you just get it in the right position, and push the little stick

personally i think tampons are uncomfortable..but go ahead and try them for yourself

Well if you are leaking through pads you are deff going to leak through a tampon!!

Read the directions in the box!!

While on the toilet just put it inside of you.

It's kind of hard to explain but it gives full instructions in the box.

If it is in correctly then you won't be able to feel it.

And remeber to change it frequently!

The best thing to tell you is that inside the box there is a photo and verbal demonstration. It explains it PERFECTLY!!! Use tampax those are the best

read the leaflet in the packet, but basically if youre using an applicator, position in your.. urm... opening... and use the applicator so it slides in... if its non applicator you push it in using your finger. dont force it though, try it slowly and it works best first time when youre relaxed.

if you get a brand like platex sport then there are directions in the box=) it helps your first time=)

this question is beyond stupid a boy can answer this question too? im a boy and i can answer this but i aint gonna

ok, well i use ob (the brand), its sooo smal and has no applicator which i like. what you do, is you put the tip of ur finger on the end and guide it into ur hole (to find ur hole for the first time, put some toilet paper on ur finger and search for it lol) gently push the tampon in until it is fully in. and the string is out and accessable. you have to be relaxed b/c if ur muscles r tense it won't go in!! also, the first time getting it in is a bit uncomfortable and painful i'm not gonna lie, but u get used to it and it doesn;t hurt. if ur hymen isn't broken, that also may cause a bit more pain.
but you can handle it i'm 12 and used my first tampon when i was 11!
good luck!!

When you buy them, there should be a little instructions leaflet in with them...
They work by soaking up your period before it actually leaves your body. If your period is very heavy maybe try a tampon and a pad just for peace of mind.. Some people find them somewhat uncomfortable but if you follow the instructions on how to use them right, this shouldnt be a problem. Maybe only the first time...good luck!

They aren't that scary and don't feel bad about this, every girl has gone through this at least once in their life. I would recommend buying the "gentle glide" kind, particularly "multi-pack" and when you open the box up, it'll come with instructions with pictures on the how to's, without completely going into detail. I've left a link though, that will provide you with all the information you could possibly need in the comforts of your own home. Best of luck!
