Anyone with hot flashes?!

Question: I'm 22 and I think I'm having hot flashes. I think that I had a nervous break down when I left my husband and I've been having hot flashes for 2 years now. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'll get really really hot like I turned up the heat to 90 or I'm standing in front of a stove and it'll last untill I take off some clothes or crack the window. Then it'll go away and I'll get cold, then I'll get hot again. I'm not the type to really sweat but, I feel damp when I have these flashes. I went to the doctor and they found nothing. I"m getting tired of runing back and forth to the window. The funny thing is, I'm almost always cold, then I'll get this wave of heat over me, and I just want to strip off everything. My boyfriend is 31 and I feel older then him :(

Hot flashes come from a sudden drop in hormone levels, but can also be effected by stress, lifestyle, cysts, age, and medications. There isn't really any easy way to stop them, because there are a lot of triggers.

I have always had them, it's a pain because no one wants to believe someone so young is having them but you're flushed red and feel hot as hades for a little while. I feel your pain, sista, because it makes you feel like an old lady.

Sometimes I know when they are coming, because it's like everything starts to heat up or I get a weird tingly prickly feeling. Othertimes it's WHAM! 1,000,000 degrees of suprise!

It's probably just stress if the doctor didn't find anything. Stress can do all sorts of bizarre things to your body. Look into learning some relaxation techniques.
