There are many reasons for some hair loss, most are no big deal, but you are worried, so you should consult a doctor.

Save the hair that you lose for a known period of time (say a week) so you have a record of the actual quantity lost. Pop this into a plastic bag to take along to the appointment (write the dates on the bag with a marker).

"A lot of hair" is hard to judge. If you say "I lost this hair in seven days ending yesterday" and hand the doctor the bag, you will both know exactly what you mean.

Examining the lost hair may also be helpful. She/he can see if it is coming out at the root, breaking off, is damaged somehow, and so on.

Some reasons for hair loss can be health related, and among those are poisoning, severe shortages of some nutrients, and diseases, both systemic and scalp related.

Don't panic, but do see a physician.

could it be the shampoo you're using. some shampoo may not suit your scalp. try switching your shampoos, try not using your straightner, curling iron, and gel for a while. if they don't work talk to your parents and go to the doctor. good luck =]

Stress can cause hair lost and poor nutrition. I had the same problem!! Just eat lots of nutritional food like vegetables and good meat and get massages regularly that will help your stress!!

Hi there
It is possible that your hair loss is related to teh working of your thyroid gland. It can be easily sorted with a blood test if that were the case. Also stress can have an adverse effect-some people lose their hair as a result. You might want to speak to your gp or practice nurse about possible causes and how to remedy them

Hi there. Your sitch is very common. It could be alopecia areata. It is characterized by hair falling out, resulting in smooth, round patches on the scalp. In some cases, alopecia areata can cause the complete loss of scalp and body hair. The condition is most common in people under 30.
