This site has useful diagrams and explanations. But you know, you aren't going to be able to see it yourself--it's too far up. If your menstrual flow isn't coming out (but you feel like you're having periods--cramps, moodiness, etc. on a monthly schedule)--then you could wonder whether it covers the opening. In that case, you'll want to see a doctor to have it perforated. It sounds drastic but it's not a big deal, really.

The main site also has other kinds of useful information as well.

it is just a thin film that covers, it usually bleeds if it is broken

Its a peice of skin , thin like going across your vagina. it varies on the person. also, its about a centimeter in. hope this Helps!

ughh, you cant see it. its way up there. and its just like a thin peice of skin.

It's a thin piece of skin around the edge of your vagina. It's just right on the outside. I never looked at mine, but I remember feeling it. If it's there, it will feel kind of like the skin between your fingers when you stretch your fingers apart, just thinner.

I doubt that you can see it unless you really see inside of yourself but it's like a thin piece of skin. It bleeds when it breaks though

You mostly never notice the hymen until it has been torn. The fact is that most women do not even learn what a hymen is because they never see it, and then when they do see it, they flip. After it is broken, it sticks out much more than usual.

the hymen doesnt look the same on everybody.
get a book about it or something. and its very painful.
have you ever done anything to have broken it??
if not then its not broken obviouslyyy
