I've been shaky all day. Should I be worried?!

Question: Today I started my period and I've had cramps all day. I took two asprin, but they didn't kick in the time they should have, so I took another. I sometimes get shaky if my blood sugar is too low, but I've been eating candy all day, so it shouldn't be too low. Could my blood sugar be too high, or could it be the pills?

To be honest, Midol does have caffeine in it (About 60 mg, from the bottle I have with me -- If that's what you took), and a lot of sugar can have that effect. Don't eat any more candy for today. Instead, go for some fruit if you must have something sweet. It'll pass. Your body is just going through a caffeine overload. It happened to me once, and I was really stressed out and feeling really cranky. It's completely normal.

Just be careful! If you have to take more aspirin, take only one and see how long it takes to kick in. Eating food helps if you want them to kick in faster. Have a balanced meal and try that.

Good luck. :D

Do not eat any more candy - that's what is giving you the shakes. Have a nice scrambled egg (protein) with toast (carbohydrates). Follow that up with some fruit for natural sugar.

You should see a doctor. If you're a diabetic, the last thing you want to do is eat candy all day long.

bllod sugar. dump the lollies and eat pasta or potato pies. you need something that isnt just an instant rush.

you need a glucose meter go to pharmacy they may be able to take it there where I live they do!! GL

Could be the sugar. Also could be the pills- why would you do something like intentionally OD'ing?

thats quite normal, anything can happen on your first day-just stay calm and dont worry about it, but, if it continues throughout the month-tell your doctor
