I had an IUD put in last week and now I am having weird discharge...?!

Question: My paragard IUD has been for 11 days. I have had an increased amount of discharge since then, however this morning it was a little different. The discharge this morning is greenish-yellow and smells funny. Almost sickeningly sweet if that makes any sense at all. Does anybody know what this could be? I know it could be an infection, but what kind? I am going to call the doctor tomorrow, but just wanted to know what to expect. I am not pregnant. The IUD was placed in during my last period and a PT was found negative.

Thanks in advance!

You do have an infection. It often happens after an IUD insertion, because of the irritation involved. It happened to me. If you want to try a homeopathic remedy instead of antibiotics, Sepia might help. Take one pill of 30c or 6c, twice a day for 3 days (no more). Or an herbal antibiotic is golden seal. But do talk to your doctor.

I can almost guarentee you have a bacterial infection...They suck but are very treatable....They will put you on either metro-gel or flagyl for 7 days and it will be gone...Hope this helps

yeahhh
I would say you need a doctor to check that out.

You have an infection. I advise you to go to the doctor to get it checked out.
