What should I say to my friend???!

Question: Help! My friend is bulimic! What should I do?

Answers: Help! My friend is bulimic! What should I do?

To be honest, there isn't much you can do. Bulimia is not necessarily about looking thin.

I've been battling bulimia for 6 years, and nothing anyone has ever said to me has helped. Eventually, I've had to deal with my own issues because I knew I wanted to be rid of the illness for good.

It's hard work overcoming it, but all you can do is be supportive. And what ever you do, don't follow her to the bathroom after each meal and check she isn't being sick. People still do that to me, and it does my head in. It isn't helpful in the slightest.

Don't pretend her illness doesn't exist, but don't be overly pushy. She will come to you if she needs you.

tell her parents so they can get her the help she needs
she may be mad at you for a while but it's the best thing for her and she'll thank you later

Just everytime you see her telll her how good she looks.....wow! you look really good, tell me your secrets!

throw up in her bed, see how SHE likes it >:D

Definatly tell an adult. She needs serious help and sadly its help that you alone cant give her.

have a vomit contest, then eat seven potatoes

I would tell her parents as soon as possible. If you just found this out chances are that she's been this way for a while and she is having a very hard with the situation.
If you do not feel comfortable speaking with her parents over the issue tell a teacher at school or a school consular.

Aaah! That's hard! But first, TELL SOMEONE! I would suggest your parents or a school counselor! Forewarning: Your friend probably will get mad at you, but trust me, you're doing the right thing! Your friend needs help before she gets seriously sick. You can DIE from this! Tell your friend she's find the way she is, and that she's killing herself! And don't give up! Good Luck :]
