Menstrual Period Help!! (Girls only)?!

Question: I am 13, almost 14, and still not have had my first period. I have some pretty heavy discharge (I use panty liners) but the past couple of months it has been a lot lighter. I am worried that there is something wrong with me because I haven't had my period. Will I get my period soon? I have been getting cramps a lot and I also have a cyst on my right ovary (if that has anything to do with this). I also become pretty moody at times and my friends always ask me if I am PMS-ing. Is there something wrong with me? Will I get my period soon? Help girls!

when you get discharge that is the first sign of you getting your period. i had discharge when i was 14 and 15 years old and finally a little after i turned 15 i got my period. there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with you. some people get their periods earlier than others, for me i got mine after all my friends did. you should be happy you didn't get yours yet, and when you do, welcome to the club sister. cramps arent usually a problem for me but if you do get them take some advil and take a nice hot bath : )

oh p.s. you also get discharge after you get your first period. its gross stuff but its only there to clean out your vagina and stuff like that. its normally. panty liners are awesome : )

You say you have an ovarian cyst, which indicates you have seen a doctor. You should discuss this with the doctor. Your period will happen soon enough.

some ppl dont get it until their 15 or 16

and if you are really skinny thers a possibility that you are going to get it when your 18

For some girls it takes a little longer for them to get their period. Some girls get there period when they are 11 or even earlier and some don't get theres until they are 17 or 18. Your cramps might have to do with your cyst but if they are really bad you should ask your doctor about them to make sure nothing is wrong. You might get your period soon but you might not. For now just keep using panty liners for the discharge and when you do get your period you'll have the panty liners to save you from an embarassing situation.

You are fine, don't worry. My dauther was 14 when she got hers, although I was 12. Everyone is different. You are PMS-ing really since you haven't gotten it yet. From the onset of puberty until you get your period is like one constant PMS cycle. Once you get it, your mood will get better and you'll just PMS right before your period every month.

its unusual to get your period if your way under 100 lbs
so your normal, maybe you should justput on some weight
but i'd talk to yuor doctor about the moodiness cramps, and the no period, cause thats weird
the cyst might also screw wih your cycle

the basic guideline for womens weight is that you should be 100 pounds at five feet, plus 5 pounds for every inch above that. so you should be about 105. if you are really small boned and petite though, don't worry. even if you know you are way too skinny, its only time to worry when youre 16 and have't had your period. i was really skinny and tall and got it at 13 and a half, and for that whole year i thought every little stomach cramp was my period!! then it came one day when i completely forogt about it, so don't stress!

seeing as you are so tiny, no. usually shorter people dont get their period intil they are 15 or 16.
by best friend didnt get her until she was 17, and she was about your height, and she was a soccer player.

I'm exactly like you, same weight and, although I'm two inches taller, and extremely active in ballet, dance competitions, and gymnastics. I compete a lot, although I just started my period in January, and I'm turning 14 in May. You're fine. You should start around the same age as your mom or older sister, cousin, etc. Girls can start their period anytime from when they're 8 to when they're 18. My aunt actually didn't get hers for the first time until she was 21, not to mention the fact it had to induced by a doctor, and that was totally normal for her. If you reach 18 without getting it, go see a doctor.
