Sex sometimes hurts?!

Question: I am 23 and have sex with my fiance on a regular basis. It sometimes hurts. It feels like an aching pain. I can't exactly pinpoint where. It goes away after we have had sex for about a minute. It also doesn't always happen. Any ideas?

That's not abnormal. You should have him slowly insert and give you time to adjust as opposed to going all the way in at once. Make sure you are also relaxed, spread wide enough and aren't clenching any muscles. Also, make sure he isn't pounding and going slow (if you really relax, you'll know how fast you can handle). That's happened with my girlfriend before, and usually we are rushing it or she isn't relaxed.

If it's aching, it's definitely muscular or related to pressure or speed. Lube issues would feel like burning.

It may be tough to relax, especially if you are expecting aching, but you have to in order to avoid it. If he's going too fast, don't resist (that will tense you up), but ask him to slow down. If he doesn't, kick his butt after it's over. :-)

tell him to slow down

Sometimes I feel pain when he hits my cervix. You might have to change positions. If thats not it call an advice nurse.

it happens to me sometimes too.. if you mean a chaffing feeling. i thinkits just because of all the friction and its just a little irritated. i cant have sex more than 2 times a day because it gets so sore

I wish I could help. I have alway had this problem, and I'm 56.

Hmmm same thing with my ex girlfriend. My penis is relatively large though. Is he large as well? Have to tried lubrication?

Could be UTI or maybe you need to use Lubrication Gels

If ur new to it it will hurt. But if not... hell just ask a doctor about it.

Try some KY jelly.

See vulvodynia and vestibulitis.

Maybe just need extra lubrication. Or outside stimulation during intercourse.

See your doc if you are concerned and make sure you've been getting your paps regularly. Not to scare, but sometimes pain can be an indicator that all is not well, but not always. Best to play safe, though.

That use to happened with me and my boyfriend. He was about 7 1/2 inches or so, it was kinda of in my abdomin area where the pain was being felt, i'm not sure if it was because of his size or what but it would hurt for a while and then go away after sometime. I wish i could answer more but i don't know entirely where you're feeling the pain.

Same thing happened to me. Had myself checked out and turned out I had cervical cancer.

don't do it doggy. might be goin in too deep. he got a long one? tell im to stop hitting your cervix! seriously different positions'll affect that differently. try ones where you close your legs and his are open around yours - it won't go in so far then.

The only thing I can think of that would ease up after a minute is a lubrication issue, because you'll make more as you go. But, I think that would cause more of a burning pain, but everyone is different so it may be that. You also do have to stretch a little for penetration so it could just be adjusting. And if he is hitting your cervix, that can cause an achy pain. I think you're probably okay as long as the pain isn't severe or lasting throughout sex.

This happens to me sometimes. It happens to me before that time of the month. It might be that you are just really tense or the position that you are in. It can also be something serious. If it is really painful go to your gynecologist.

I don't know. You sound like you might benefit from actually talking with others about sex.

Here is my kind of weird answer: Rent the movie Kinsey. He was a pioneer researcher on sexuality who taught at the University of Indiana, Bloomington. You might like the movie. It's not just about sex, it is about awareness and openness about sex....

The person who suggests an exam is right.
