Has anyone ever had cervical displasia? Or known anyone that had it? Details...?!
Question: I had my son in January of 2007. At my 6 week checkup they found the cervical displasia so they sent me to the cancer center. I went and they sprayed vinegar to look and did a biopsy. I got a letter saying that they found something and that I needed to go back in April of 2007. Well I never went back, I still havent went back. a year later. Well im finally going back tomorrow, and im really nervous and scared! Has this ever happened to anyone else? I know I should have taken care of this a long time ago, but truth be told, I was scared to go back. I still am.

Jessy,
I had an abnormal pap smear several years ago. A follow-up check ruled out cervical dysplasia. I remember feeling very scared also and very relieved to know that it was nothing. Yes, you are right that you should have taken care of this before now - fear can have a paralyzing effect on people sometimes; but I am glad that you are finally going to follow-up. You have a son that needs you so you must do what you have to do to be there for him.
I wish you the best.
Yes I've had it, and it's probably nothing. On the other hand, you really should be taking this more seriously. A year is a long time to wait when it might be somethng serious.
If you were told that you might have cancer would you wait a year before getting it checked out? I doubt it. It's your body gal - take care of it.
