Why is my period sometimes a few days late?!

Question: I am not having sexual intercourse, nor am I on any kind of medication. usually if I am late it is only about 2-3 days, but this time it has been 6, and I am wondering why it is sometimes late?

if you've only had your period for less than a year you're still irregular and it's normal.

Are you stressing? gaining or losing weight? more active? less active? any major change in diet? change in sleep? the littlest thing can throw your period off.

also know that your period changes roughly every 7 years so if you're older, this may be another change.

Well how long have you been getting your period? It usually takes a couple years after your first one for it to become regular. If you're really worried, see your doctor.

yeah, i know how you feel. mine's always weeks late. i don't really know why, i'm just used to it. it sucks because i don't really have a clue when i'm going to get mine, it's always unexpected. because i don't get cramps.

Because they're never 100% regular-If they are to anyone, they should consider themselves lucky. It depends on your activity level, what foods you eat, toxins in your body, etc...But mostly it decides when it comes :)

are you pregnate? if not tell your doctor about it. this might be a problem or it might just be a change. i dunno.

everyone's body is different, not many people have their period every 28 days on the dot. most people get it 2 or 3 days late or early. if you want to have it regulated go to the doctor's and go on the pill.

anything from stress, medications, exercise, diet, etc can throw the menstrual cycle off a couple days.

tht happens to me if i had been physically active like going to the gym a lot or taking dance class or training for a basketball tournament. i become about a week late. its pretty normal, but am not so sure why tht happens...

I'm in the same situation as you. I've had mine for 7 years and It comes late all of the time. I'm not sure there's any rhyme or reason, it's just not an exact science. Sometimes if you over work yourself or if you are stressed it happends. If there's no way you could be prego, I wouldn't worry too much unless it doesn't come for months (then you would have to worry about cysts and stuff).

So sometimes if you have a friend, a girl
that you hang out with a lot or are around them
in school and they've started it's probably because
of them! I know this is weird but if their period
is later than yours or something it changes it.

It's something to do with hormones I think.
But that's why. It happens all the time at my house because
my mom and my twin sister are at different times but
then we get closer and closer each month.

And there is your answer!

It can take up to 3 years from the time a girl starts menstruating for her body to develop a regular cycle. Even then, what's regular varies from person to person. Girls' cycles can range from 21 to 45 days.

After 24 days your period will return...Ur period i supposed to return after a month..but from the day your period appears 23 days later it will arrive again..thus it will not always come on the same date every month..also changing hormone levels might make your come before or after its due date...it can also result in longee, shorter periods and even heavier and lighter periods..I think it is normal for ur period to appear 2,3,6 days later..however if you are feeling insecure about the problem and this situation then I will advise you to see a doctor or a nurse.
Good Luck
