yes, it is normal. sometimes all you do is sit and watch tv and it will rise. it is perfectly normal(and sometimes embarassing) for men. I just look at it as i still got it after all these years!

Well, mabie it is close to nighttime and he WANTS to have sex, and ( this IS POSSIBLE) imagines you nude or having sex with him.
