I prefer the lights on, although candlelight only is nice, too. However, I did date one girl who preferred the lights out. When I understood why (body image issues) I was able to convince her that I found her quite beautiful without clothes on, and she eventually decided she wanted to see me, too.
Depends on the mood during sex. Lights on or off I dont care as long as we are having sex ;)

It depends on the man and the women. It totally depends on my mood. If I'm looking for some raunchy, hott, steamy, and even somewhat kinky love making, I will turn on the light. I keep the light on during those times so I can se my partners reaction to the things I'm doing. Not to mention, he's very attractive so it's nice to just look at that. Lol.
However, if I am looking for a passionate, more intimate time with my lover, I turn the lights out or have a candle lite some many feet away. I do this because when it's pitch black, or black enough to the point where it's difficult to see their face it's more than looking at them and seeing their reaction. It's FEELING their reaction... it's feeling their hands on you, or being able to feel them looking at you.
But that's just me. Some people like dark better because they aren't comfortable with their bodies, or their partners. It really just depends on the person.

It's all about the mood when it comes to leaving the light on or off. I like the light off but maybe the hallway light or a closet light on. Or candles all aroud. Candles are awesome.
