Been on my period for an EXTRA long time. Why?!

Question: I've been on ortho tri cycline for years. I've always had regular periods, lasting 5-7 days max. This month, my period has lasted almost two weeks! Twice, I've thought that I was "finished" and then it came back a day later. Should I be concerned?

That is EXACTLY what happened to me! I was on tri cycline too and I would get super duper long periods near the end after being on it for years. I talked to my gyno, and she said that since it is a generic pill it sometimes causes long periods and random starts and stops. So from what my gyno told me, it is normal when you are on a generic pill.

If you want to switch I LOVE Loestrin 24Fe. I asked my gyno about it and she said that since I was having such long periods this would help. It makes you only have a 3 day period! Ask your gyno and she might give you a trial period on it. Good luck!

Hi there. I don't know what ortho tri cycline is, so I can't tell if that has had any effect on you or not.
But it's quite possible that you have a hormone imbalance, along with an iron deficiency. Go see your doctor and get some tests done. Shouldn't be anything major, just a blood test :)
Good luck!
