Really painful cramps?!

Question: Last month and now this month I've been getting really painful cramps in the middle of my cycle. It actually makes me feel sick. It woke me up tonight out of a deep sleep. It lasts for a few hours then lightens up. I'm only 17. I have been feeling stressed about somethings, but is this stress, or something I've eaten or something more serious. I'm starting to get more worried about this now.

I've had horrible cramps like that since I was 11. I would get phisically ill from the pain, have and upset stomach and need to be close to a bathroom at all times, my feet and legs will swell up really bad and it sucks. You can get cramps from ovulation which is probably what is occuring mid cycle so next month when you think your about to hit that point take some advil or some sort of pain killers and few days before hand and it will help to alleviate the pain and keep it at a tolerable level.

when you are stressed it can amplify and make things much worse, not that they arent but it can I suppose in a way inflame thing. Take some ibueprofen or midol. If it is really bothersome see your doctor. It may be hormones...

hmm.....idk this has happened to me as well. i never had cramps but suddenly this year i started getting them pretty badly. i now take pain relievers such as midol or Tylenol. but i take it one day before i expect my period to prepare for it.

it could be stress, but your young so your menstrual cycle can change alot

take some analgesic like mefanamic acid plus some anxiolytic like bromezepam 1.5mg one tablet prior to going to bed

Hopefully, this will pass when your stress eases. In the meantime:

Eat lots of raw carrots or drink a glass of fresh carrot juice daily. Because of high amounts of Vitamin A, carrots are very effective in regulating painful periods.

Chamomile tea, ginger, valerian and peppermint are all useful for easing pain and decreasing spasms.
