There is no sex with a hymen. As soon as the vagina is penetrated the hymen tears and then its gone. FOREVER!!!
The hymen normally breaks when first penetrated - which can be just as likely to be pleasurable as it is that it could be painful, it's different for everyone.
Although the hymen doesn't always break, sometimes it is too thick to break on it's own so may be painful for the girl/woman until it is broken, it will evenutally be broken if not through sex then via a doctor.
Once the hymen is broken then that is it, it does not just go forever it is still there but as small flaps of skin around the opening to the vagina - if still in tact it is a thin layer partly-covering the opening to the vagina, looking often like a tight ring of flesh around the opening to the vagina.
There is no difference at all between a vagina with a hymen, without a hymen or with a broken hymen - breaking the hymen has no affect what-so-ever on the vagina as a whole and doesn't really affect sex that much (unless painful for the girl/woman when it breaks).
Of course some girls have no hymen at all, but they couldn't tell you if there was a difference as of course they wouldn't know what it is like to have a hymen :o)
Some girls' hymen may have already been broken before they have sex ... through horse riding, sports or using tampons. But if it's not been broken already, the girls 1st sexual experience could be quite painful, as this is causing the hymen to break, they may even be some slight bleeding. So really, apart from the 1st time ... women generally have sex without their hymen in tact.

When a man/boy first penetrates the vagina of a virgin the hymen breaks. This will sometimes lead to bleeding and will nearly always hurt. The hurting will be because the girl is not used to it and is very tight.
