Answers: 1. How heavy is too heavy?
2. Can u go to the doctor if your on your period?

1. There is a name for heavy periods - Menorrhagia.
It would count as Menorrhagia if you bleed for more than 8 days every month, bleeds so much it stops her living a normal life, it makes the woman anaemic, has large pieces of uterus lining often throughout her period, sudden heavy flow or if she bleeds more than normal.

I suffer from Menorrhagia (or super menorrhagia if my opinion means anything), to put it into perspective an average menstrual flow is 2 to 4 ounces per period, mine is 10 to12 ounces per period and my period lasts around 8-10 days. I'm too heavy to use tampons or pads, I use a menstrual cup that a normal woman would only need to empty every 12 hours, sometimes I have to empty mine every 1 hour on a heavy day.

2. What do you mean? There is nothing you cannot do on your period, if you are talking about a pelvic exam, swabs or smears then it's not a good idea but it is possible to go for these while on your period - excluding the latter, smears may come back as abnormal if taken while menstruating.

Women have different periods, but it usually isn't a problem as long as you don't become anemic, blood count drops. You can always go the to doctor. It would be hard to diagnose a vaginal problem or urinary problem on your cycle, however.

1.) everyone is different... for the first few years i had my period in school i would go through a super tampon and a pad every hour and it lasted 8 days... now 7 years later it is much lighter and shorter too... you can go to the doctor.. but im sure you aren't alone it what you are going through... ive had friends who have had it worse than me too...
2.) you can go to the gyno. if you have your period.... if you are really struggling.. just let them know.. but its normal... the same with the regular doctor.. but if you are having female problems i would just go to the gyno.

well, im not on a heavy period yet, so i
dont know exactly how heavy it is. i started off light
and havnt experienced yettt. well, you pretty much
have to deal with the bleeding yourself. its just normal
the docter cannot do anything about it.

if you have time... answer my question!
hope i helped!

Heavy period = intensive blood during 7-10 days. Intensive blood means
