Im bulimic and im of average weight i told my mom but i think?!
Question: she doesnt understand that people of normal weight can also have bulimia and its annorexics who loose weight and bulimic usually flactuate up and down, it took my everything to tell her which was a year ago but i wish she could get me help im 16 where can i go please im desperate

I went through something similiar, only with anorexia and my parents pretty much refused to see it even when I finally realized that I had a problem. I found that my best bet was talking to the school nurse or counselor because they are adults and they can talk on that level with your parents. That way, your mom may understand just a little bit better what it is that you are doing to yourself and that you're not being a whiner. Any disorder, no matter how seemingly small, needs to be nipped in the bud before it gets serious.
Alot of parents don't understand eating disorders. Well done for wanting to get help, bulimia will not benefit you at all and contrary to what people believe, does not helpyou lose weight because it stall metabolism. The best way to get help will be through your doctor. Also look on the internet for helplines. Your mum should support you. If she doesn't help then tell a relative who will. The more you talk about it the easier it will get. It is nothing to be ashamed of.
Google bulimia and print off some pages from charity websites or try and get some leaflets from the doctors. Get her to read them then sit down and discuss it with her. You were so brave to tell her, well done. She doesn't seem to understand so you have to make her by giving her as much information as you can. Then tell her that you want help and her support.
