Do pap smears also check for common STD's, such as chlamydia?!

Question: If the doc sees anything while she is taking the pap smear, they will recommend that you get tested for chlamydia as well, as it can really affect women in some bad ways (with pregnancy and stuff, I think). But just to be sure, ask them to do it. It might cost a bit more because the pathology will have to be done for it, but it's worth it if you're worried about it.

usually yes..but ask to get the test done just to be sure

Not unless you ask them to.

I'm 22 and always have to request it done.

When you're under 25 they check for Gonnoreia and Chlamidiya...after that you have to ask for the test.

They can do STD screening at the same time, but it is a separate test, and is not necessarily done routinely. You should ask for it.
