Weird discharge, is it normal?!

Question: Okay, so Im thirteen and started getting discharge about 8 months ago. I haven't started my period yet, but ive been noticing a few signs like my boobs getting sore and bigger, and like the on and off cramps. Just now in my underwear the discharge was normal color (whitish) and was booger-like, when its usually just kindof sticky and milky. I read somewhere that that could be a sign of ovulation about two weeks prior to started your period. But I just want to be sure so I can be ready if it does come in the next few weeks. Thanks! Oh and please no stupid answers or jokes, serious answers only! Thank you!

Glands inside your vagina and cervix make small amounts of fluid. This fluid flows out of the vagina each day, carrying out old cells that have lined the vagina. This is your body's way of keeping your vagina healthy and clean. The discharge is usually clear or milky and doesn't smell bad.

The color and thickness of the discharge change with your monthly cycle. The discharge is thicker when you ovulate (when one of your ovaries releases an egg), when a woman is breastfeeding or when you're sexually excited.

Changes that may signal a problem include an increase in the amount of discharge, a change in the color or smell of the discharge, and irritation, itchiness or burning in or around your vagina. This is called vaginitis. A discharge that's stained with blood when you're not having your period could also be a sign of a problem. Some other types of infections such as yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis can also cause discharge that is usually accompanied by odor such as beer/yeast/fish.

I would recommend that if you have any of these signs or any concerns regarding this you consult with your doctor for a proper diagnosis and for proper treatment should you have anything other than just a normal vaginal discharge.

Good luck :)

if its still white in color and doesnt have any funky odors, then you should be fine. this happens to me sometimes as well. eveyrone is differnt also though, but good luck if your getting your period soon. you'll ahve it for the next 40-50 years haha

yes this is true my dear, as your body is getting ready to become fertile. these are the prior signs of menstruation.

but its better if you consult your condition to your mother or your elder sister, if any.

It all sounds normal to me. I wouldn't worry. To put your mind at rest you might like to read information on the internet about first-time menstruation. Here is an interesting link:
