i found pads best for me, and maybe if ur just starting u probably should start with pads, they are safer and easier to put on

I found pads were best for me until I was in my late teens. But you can try either.
It really depends on the activity you're doing. At night pads... During the day Tampons (especially when I'm playing sports).
whichever is more comfterable, you would probably be better with pads. i use both depending on what i am doing/wearing
diffenaultly pads i started at 12 and iv been on pads from the start the only time i use tampons is when i need to like for going swimming with mates or going on holiday and going to the beach.
ok Honey its all your choice pads are super easy because u just rip off the sticky paper and stick it on ur panties. ok if u decide on tampons then remember 2 relax now remember to change every 4 hours to avoid infection

i use both pads and tampons at the same time.
i do it because i won't have to go to the bathroom and change it was much.
it is really easy and very comfortable.
wayyyyyyyy easier than using just a pad because padsd stick to you and you get blood all over and it's just a sticky mess !
be the way you can hardly feel the tampon once you put it in as long as you did it correctly.
when you are putting the tampon in take your time and gently slide it in.

i hate pads cause they make me feel like i am wearing a diaper. if you wear tampons, make sure you put them in rite or they will be uncomfortable.
During the day I use tampons because pads make me feel unclean and I always worry about going through.Also they feel like a diaper, I wear them to bed though . You have to be careful with tampons though ,Make sure you change them every couple of hours depending on your flow to lower your risk of TSS(toxic shock syndrome) < rare but baddd
I'm 32 and i have never been able to use anything but pads. I prefer the dry weave cotton, no deoderant, with wings. When i was your age i had an unfortunate incident when the tamp got stuck! Unless you are having a heavy blood flow, i would not recommend them.
i use tampons cuz i dont feel them. .. pads are good for the night time but while you're being active you might want a tampon

DONT wear tampons wen u sleep, tho cz they have to be changed every 6-8hrs. and if u sleep with it in longer then tht could increase ur chance of havin' TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME (TSS); its a very rare but dangerous/deadly disease...

i say pads, when you get your period, sometimes like little chunks (mucus like) come out, and when you wear tampons, all those things stay up there, they don't come out... so just to be on the safe side... pads.

I'm 15, been having my periods since I was 12. I have tried to use tampons but they're sore and I'm scared! I'm planning on sticking with pads until summer this year or next!

Pads are more comfortable, but have to be changed about every 3-4 hours or they will start to smell.
Tampons are harder to use, because you have to be relaxed, but last about 7-8 hours.

Ultimately it is what is best for you. If you are insure what to use then you should talk with your mom or another adult (woman). I started my period at 10 yrs old and I used pads. When I was 13 I started to use tampons. I didn't like pads because they were messy, smelly and just a pain in the butt. I felt like I was wearing a diaper all the time. Tampons saved me! LOL. But if you are unsure you should talk to someone. And you can try out both pads and tampons and see what you like better.

Your 12 so pads.. when you get a little older use tampons they are so much better, cleaner and smell better, but use pads at night still..
tampons cause then you dont feel so consious or always feeling "wet, damp or sticky" plus you dont have to worry if anybody can see the shape of your pad through you pants.
