Contraceptive ring - weight gain / moods?!?!
Question: Im thinking of starting the contraceptive vaginal ring, Im wondering is there anyone out there that found the pill gave them side effects such as weight gain and mood swings; Im wondering did anyone experience this with the ring and any other opinions would be really appreciated! thanks

I've been on both the pill and the ring. The side effects on the pill were unbearable. Mood swings and nausea were the worst of them, and remembering that pill every day (and taking time out of commitments to go and get it and take it) was murder. My experience on the ring has been infinitely better. It's not perfect, I must admit. I'm a bit more moody than if I'm taking no contraception at all, and I got a bit of weight gain (though luckily mostly in the chest area, and none of this has been as bad as the pill). My libido has dipped a little bit, but overall it's wonderful to have no nausea and to have the contraceptive effects of hormonal birth control without the intense inconvenience of the pill. I did contract a yeast infection, which has never happened before, but only once in 5 months.

Depends on the pill you will need to talk to your doctor about that and ask for a lower dosage. The pill actually cured my PMS and cramps.
i have the ring, it works wonders for my pms mood swings. I never gained anything from it either.
I had pills before but i was allegeric about them and i puked them up.
The pill made my period better honestly. Which its not really bad anyhow. but it definatley made it more regular. :)
